Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Growing up, Dr. Garcia was always fascinated with biology—specifically human biology and what made everything work. It wasn’t until his second year in college that he decided to dedicate himself to dentistry. After shadowing his stepfather at his dental practice, he came to realize the sheer number of oral health problems that could be treated simply and effectively with dental care. Since then, he’s applied himself thoroughly so that he can provide high-quality services to help others.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Garcia attended Florida State University to receive his bachelor's degree before going to Tufts University of Dental Medicine in Boston. During his time there, he had the privilege of providing dental services to patients in Santo Domingo on a service trip, where he was able to work alongside other dental students while learning the importance and necessity of dentistry throughout the world.

After graduating from dental school, Dr. Garcia has regularly pursued continuing education courses in a variety of specialties, including dental implants, clear aligner orthodontics (like Invisalign), and TMJ diagnosis/treatment. He’s also a member of multiple professional organizations, such as the Massachusetts Dental Society and SPEAR Education.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Garcia feels blessed to be part of a large and loving family, whom he enjoys spending much of his time with when he isn’t helping patients with their smiles. Other than being with loved ones, he also likes various forms of physical activities, including swimming, hiking, running, yoga, and boxing. He’s even a tea connoisseur of sorts, having an appreciation for all forms—his current favorite tea being Pu-erh. In his spare time, he also enjoys reading, gardening, and playing online video games. One fun fact about him: he’s never broken a single bone!
